Missed the playoffs

Pirates fans spent the final stretch arguing whether an 82-80 finish after a 71-91 year was progress or failure, with a late hot streak and a final-day win tipping many toward pride. With the season over, their worry has turned to whether Nutting will spend to keep Lowe.
