A win over Auburn bought calm, not belief, and the room spent it arguing about everyone else.
The emotional rollercoaster
Tennessee fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Tennessee beat Auburn 24-14 and moved to 4-1, which should have been enough. The turning point wasn't on the field so much as in the aftermath: with the win banked, the fanbase pivoted immediately to conference hierarchy anxiety, warning that "Mizzou is really about to fuck up the SEC power rankings after this sub dragged them and glazed UF all week." Misery fell from 84 to 46, a win-shaped improvement. Somewhere in there, a fan snapped "We are, fuck the fans screaming that." Victory, apparently, is just quieter arguing.
