What happened
Three-two over Vancouver should have felt good, except the winner arrived late enough that one fan called it "a collapse. At the 60:01 mark!!" — joy arriving as grievance. Then 1-2 in Ottawa, a game a buddy of a fan called "one of the worst games in recent history," plus "that some dirty shit on that senator who punched Ecklund." The turn came in Toronto, where Holmstrom scored twice in a 4-1 win with the lineup gutted: "Ritchie out, Maccelli pulled a Palmeiri knee, and no Barzal yet." Misery barely moved. Relief here is just a shorter wait for the next grudge.
