The emotional rollercoaster
Fan misery across the week, every six hours. Up is worse. Dashed lines are games.
What happened
Two wins over Boston had the fanbase exhaling, then the 4-3 loss on the 17th reopened every bullpen wound at once. They recovered by beating Toronto 7-1 behind Rocker, and the turning point came the next night: a 6-2 win paired with an Astros loss put a 78-77 team in sole possession of the AL West. Sunday's 2-7 finish barely registered. Somehow a .500 club is leading a division, and nobody in Texas is asking questions.
What fans said
“if you told me at season’s start that we’d be deep in the trenches fighting for first in the west in mid September I would’ve thought we were a 90+ win team were .500 lmao”

“What a massive failure by Skip tonight. “3-1 in the 8th, my best option is a guy who hasn’t gotten anybody out in a month, is absolutely cooked, and blew a 3-0 lead in ten pitches a week ago. Imma go with that.””

“we need somebody to find the cable to that van and unplug it for the next 11 games.”
