What happened

Four wins, two losses, and a season dragged back to level at 81-81. The week opened 7-0 in Seattle and the mood lifted enough that one fan called being a game under .500 in late September something that "never felt so good," before a 5-6 loss brought back "atrocious bullpen management." Another 5-6 in Oakland nearly finished them off. Then came 13-2, then 9-0, and a fanbase that spent August calling this the worst team since 2014 found itself celebrating .500 like a parade route.
