What happened
They took the Royals series, 4-2 and 6-2, and Yordan's 40th homer had people doing triple crown math with Caminero and Alonso. Then Atlanta arrived and the math stopped. The turning point was Thursday's 2-6, where seeing Dubon in a Braves uniform reopened a wound nobody had stitched, and the 3-6 and 2-4 that followed only confirmed it. Below .500 at 77-79, the fanbase spent the weekend rooting against Seattle out of spite and suggesting the AL West forfeit its postseason spot. Someone returned a recliner.
