What happened
Monday's 3-7 loss to the White Sox had Cleveland fans insisting the team didn't deserve the hunt it was in. Then came the 7-6 walk-off the next night, and the whole mood flipped — dread it, run from it, it arrived anyway. Five straight followed: 6-3, 5-3 with José Ramírez's 1,000th RBI, a 12-6 that somehow still felt stressful, and a 1-0 closer. First place, 81-75, and a fanbase thanking Antonetti out loud. Misery index: zero. Suspicious, that.
