The emotional rollercoaster

Fan misery across the week, every six hours. Up is worse. Dashed lines are games.

Worst game: Wed, Sep 23, L 2-3 vs Miami Marlins

In-game fan misery, every 15 minutes.

What happened

Two wins, four losses, and a fanbase counting the ways a 89-73 season stopped feeling like an achievement. Miami took the first two, 8-2 and 3-2, with one fan bracing to get "swept by a team with nothing to play for." The turn came in Boston, where a 4-3 loss squandered the home wild card handed to them — "this team says 'no we don't want it.'" Facial fractures and a lost bat deepened the gloom. Sunday's 6-2 win arrived late and convinced nobody.
