What happened
Boise State came to Pullman and left with a 31-10 win, which undersells how long Washington State hung around. The turning point was the fourth quarter, where whatever had been holding together stopped holding. One fan offered the week's epitaph in advance: "was tied at the end of the 3rd quarter against a ranked opponent," hang the banner. At 1-7, the misery index jumped from 46 to 78, and another noted it's "hard to see Martin Stadium so empty." The seats know the record too.
