They won, and somehow felt worse for it — four wins in, and Elliott is still a dangerously radical cleric.

What happened

Virginia beat Syracuse 28-25 and moved to 4-2, which should have been a pleasant Saturday. It was not. The turning point was the late stretch when a comfortable afternoon stopped being comfortable, and the fanbase spent it bracing rather than celebrating. One fan called Tony Elliott "a dangerously radical cleric," which drew more support than the win itself. Another summed up the mood with "I feel worse than I did before this." Misery dipped from 89 to 77. Winning helped. Barely.
