A 41-13 gutting in Athens had Sooners fans ranking John Mateer below Jackson Arnold, which is its own hell.
The emotional rollercoaster
Oklahoma fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Oklahoma went to Athens and came home 2-2 after a 13-41 loss that stopped being competitive roughly when Georgia decided it should. The turning point wasn't a play so much as a realization, somewhere in the second half, that the quarterback situation had not been solved by importing a new one. One fan declared John Mateer "might be the worst college QB I've ever seen and I've seen Jackson Arnold play," which is Sooner misery in its purest form: measured against previous misery.
