What happened
Maryland went to Lincoln and lost 48-23, dropping to 2-3 and leaving the misery needle parked at 90, unmoved from last week. The turning point wasn't a snap so much as a recognition: once Nebraska pulled clear, the fanbase stopped watching the game and started reciting it. As one put it, "I wish I could tell you it's because I am a ball knower but I've just been subjected to enough Maryland football to know the script." Another noted his kids no longer ask to come along. The script outlives the audience.
