What happened
Maryland hosted Virginia Tech and left with a 26-35 loss, dropping to 2-1 and turning a tidy September into an argument. The turning point wasn't a snap so much as a mood: somewhere in the second half the fanbase stopped watching the field and started watching the sideline. Misery nearly doubled, from 45 to 85. One fan wanted Mike Locksley gone "even if it means Washington transfers elsewhere." Another had already done the math: "Maryland suffering is eternal.
