What happened
Cal went to Las Vegas and came home 2-3, dropping a 39-31 decision to UNLV that functioned as the week's hinge and, for many, the season's. The sportsbook jokes wrote themselves; nobody in the fanbase laughed. Message boards skipped past analysis and went straight to employment status, with one fan insisting "Somerville must be fired or we will lose all recruits," another calling Tosh "Cal's prodigal son who should've never fucking come back." October just started, and the conversation already sounds like December.
