The emotional rollercoaster
BYU fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
The undefeated run ended in Orlando, 39-31 to UCF, and BYU fans spent the night relitigating one snap. Third and 17, the defense had it won, and a missed tackle turned the stop into a first down. From there the air went out of the thing. The honest ones conceded "UCF deserved the win, and we did not," even while grumbling that "refball going both ways was atrocious." At 6-1, the loss stings less than the way it arrived.
