BYU beat Notre Dame 28-24 and moved to 6-0, which sounds tidy until you hear the fanbase describe it. The muffed punt is the moment everyone keeps circling back to, the one that "took all the air out of the team," followed closely by a fake punt call nobody has forgiven. One fan summed up the afternoon as a sustained effort to "give this game away." Misery dropped from 58 to 19 anyway. Undefeated teams rarely sound this haunted.
