Week 1 · 2025–26 season
Saints
L 13-20 vs Cardinals · Sep 7, 2025
Misery Index · Miserable
Saints fans blaming refs, announcers, and the ghost of Dennis Allen rather than admit this roster is just bad.
The emotional rollercoaster
Fan misery across the game window. Up is worse.
What happened
Death by a thousand chunk plays: T.McBride for 25, M.Harrison uncovered for 45, then T.Benson gashing the edge for 52 to set the tone after halftime. The offense had its moment when S.Rattler found C.Olave for 10, but a stuffed A.Kamara run at the ARI 5 and an incomplete deep shot to C.Olave with four seconds left bookended the same old feeling. New coach, same Week 1 ending — and the run defense is already a problem.
