What happened
The P.Mahomes pick-six to D.Lloyd — 99 yards, the longest possible swing on a football field — is the play that will loop in everyone's head, but the loss had plenty of co-authors: special teams penalties erasing returns, a kickoff out of bounds, and a defense that couldn't get off the field when B.Thomas ripped off 33 yards to set up T.Lawrence's walk-in score. Two K.Hunt touchdowns in the fourth weren't enough. The margin for error in Kansas City has officially vanished.
