The emotional rollercoaster
Fan misery across the game window. Up is worse.
What happened
P.Rivers carved up San Francisco — the deep middle strike to A.Pierce, the dimes to J.Downs and J.Taylor — and put 27 on the board against a real defense. None of it mattered because B.Purdy answered every drive with a touchdown of his own (D.Robinson, G.Kittle, and on, and on), and A.Abdullah's early fumble set the tone. The quarterback played his heart out. The building around him remains the problem fans are tired of naming.
