What happened

J.Allen opened Highmark with the kind of first quarter that makes a fanbase briefly forget its instincts — a 43-yard strike to J.Palmer, scrambles of 12 and 14 yards, and a near-disaster sack-fumble by A.Hutchinson that S.Brown fell on to keep the party going. Forty-one points is a statement, but Detroit still hung 31 and found S.LaPorta open into the fourth. The offense looks like a cheat code; whether the defense can hold up the other half of the bargain remains the open question.
