What happened
The J.Allen-to-J.Palmer-to-K.Shakir lateral at 0:51 should have been the play they tell stories about — 44 yards, the lead in sight. Twenty-seven seconds later, C.Bullock picked off J.Allen at the HOU 9 to end it, his second interception of the day. R.Davis's 97-yard kick return and J.Cook's 45-yard touchdown feel like artifacts from a different team, one whose window isn't quietly being shut from the inside.
