The week, game by game

Each game's fan misery, from first comment to the next game. ● marks a blowup.

• Tue, Oct 20L 1-2@ STL90
• Thu, Oct 22L 2-3@ DAL59
• Sun, Oct 25L 1-2vs MTL78

The emotional rollercoaster

Fan misery across the week, every six hours. Up is worse. Dashed lines are games.

Worst game: Tue, Oct 20, L 1-2 @ St. Louis Blues

In-game fan misery, every 15 minutes.

What happened

Three games, three one-goal losses, and the mood curdled fast. The 1-2 in St. Louis set the tone, and by the time Dallas took it 3-2 the calls had shifted from roster tweaks to "Scott Arniel needs to be shown the fucking door." The turning point was the home loss to Montreal, 1-2, where a listless night had fans fuming that "they did absolutely fuck all to protect the guts of the ice." Trade Hellebuyck, fire Arniel, play Yager and Lambert — nobody agreed on the fix, only that someone else should be doing something.
