What happened
Two wins bookended one ugly night. The 5-4 over Pittsburgh had Cossa stealing a moment and the crowd yelling "Tusks up!!!", though even in victory the refs were catching strays. Then Seattle, 3-5, the turning point of the week: a trip call that one fan swore "HE TOE PICKED THE ICE HIMSELF," plus the quieter verdict that "Vejmelka isn't the guy." The 5-4 over Tampa soothed it, Yamamoto getting declarations of love. Misery held at 44. Content, with a goaltending argument waiting.
