What happened
Two wins and a shutout loss left the fanbase in an unusually generous mood. A 2-1 squeak past Winnipeg satisfied almost nobody — one fan wanted Vinny Prospal gone, insisting "Ain't nobody got time for this shit." Then came the turn: 6-2 over Vegas, "Damn good from start to finish," Broberg christened a "beautiful Swedish meatball," Hofer riding a third straight start. Carolina's 0-4 answer dragged Fowler back into the crosshairs, but a 2-1 week with a baby's first game attached buys plenty of patience.
