What happened
A 4-0 shutout in Dallas did what October shutouts do: convinced everyone it's a Cup year. "RECKLESS OPTIMISM!!! WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK!!!" one fan wrote, while another insisted "Mason McTavish has already won us a hockey game." Then Colorado happened, 6-1, and the turn came in goal — "I'll always love Binner for winning the Cup, but he's done." Yet the room stayed oddly sunny, noting 1-1 against two of the league's best and Justin Carbonneau's two AHL points. Denial has a long season ahead.
