What happened
Two wins over Buffalo, both 4-3, both close enough to leave marks, and one 4-5 loss in Washington wedged between them that turned the week sour. The turning point was that Capitals night, when a lead became a lecture about officiating and a fanbase switched to French to curse the league: "Ça n'a pas de sens cette foutu ligue la." Misery slid from 76 to 54, which is progress. Still, the loudest complaint wasn't losing, it was "giving loser points to division rivals" twice. Winning hurts here too.
What fans said
“Can I say how infuriating it is that SportsNet East ran off from the Montreal game to show us the last 13.8 seconds of the Ottawa-Philly game? The Sens were down by 2, ffs.”
