What happened

The winless streak died in Washington, 5-2, and the mood flipped overnight: "NOBODY BEATS US 7 TIMES IN A ROW. NOBODY." A 3-2 escape on Long Island kept it going, though credit went elsewhere — "If it wasn't for my goat Darcy, we wouldn't even have a point." Then New Jersey, 1-3, and the old complaints returned: thirteen shots, Perry who "can barely move out there." The leading theory for two wins remained "Ceci scratched for two games, win two games." Misery halved. Faith did not.
