What happened
A 5-3 loss in Buffalo opened the week with fans muttering that "it's not hard to imagine the players just don't care either." Then came the 7-3 night in Columbus, the turn everything else hung on, one fan announcing "FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON IM HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME!!!" The 3-2 squeaker past Vancouver drew more scorn for the early-exit crowd than for the hockey. The 8-3 Seattle rout brought two hat tricks and calls to "BUILD THE BRADY STATUE NOW." Three wins cured a lot of theories about effort.
