What happened
Two wins banked the goodwill: 4-3 over Minnesota, then a 6-5 shootout survival against Carolina that had one fan screaming about the first shootout win since December 30th 2023 and another admitting "IF THIS TEAM IS CRACK IM AN ADDICT." Levi was the goalie of the future, McDavid had five points, Draisaitl was "GOATED." Then Toronto, 7-2, and the turn was instant — "our goaltending sucked the life out of any fight our team had tonight." A 2-1 week that somehow felt heavier than it reads.
