Chicago Blackhawks

The week, game by game

Each game's fan misery, from first comment to the next game. ● marks a blowup.

• Tue, Oct 6W 4-2vs STL42
• Thu, Oct 8L 1-4@ NYI72
• Sat, Oct 10L 2-5vs CAR96

The emotional rollercoaster

Fan misery across the week, every six hours. Up is worse. Dashed lines are games.

Worst game: Sat, Oct 10, L 2-5 vs Carolina Hurricanes

In-game fan misery, every 15 minutes.

What happened

A 4-2 win over St. Louis bought roughly 48 hours of goodwill, most of it conditional: "We need to hit and shoot waaaaay more." Then came Long Island, a 1-4 loss and a non-call that turned the room nuclear — "That was NOT a check to the head!" The 2-5 home loss to Carolina finished the job, and the targets shifted from the officials to the office: Blashill, Davidson, even trading Bedard. Misery dropped to 70, which says plenty about last week.
