What happened

The week opened with a 91-104 loss to Denver that dropped New Orleans to 0-4 and produced the purest despair of the season: "at least there wasn't any hope." Then came the turning point, a 132-120 win over Sacramento, greeted with "Just beat the best team in the league!" and the optimist's math of "Cant go 78-4 if you don't go 1-4." A 121-99 rout of Atlanta followed, lifting the record to 2-4. Two straight wins, and the fanbase still found "the selfish egotistical BS" to grieve.
