What happened
Baltimore swept the week's opening act, 4-3 and 4-2, and the mood went with it: no wildcard, no winning record, dead last, though one fan clung to the fact "chase lee strikes out alonso." A 6-5 Friday win over Cincinnati bought a night of relief before the 5-1 loss Saturday, the turning point, clinching last place. "Last to first to last." Sunday's 5-1 win and a kid helping with a dunk closed it at 79-83. Consolation prizes, arriving well after the season stopped mattering.
