What happened
A 2-1 win over the Giants opened the week and bought roughly a day of goodwill. Then came 3-10, and the 5-6 loss that flipped everything — blowing a one-run game turned the fanbase from baseball talk to arguing about whether Pujols or Molina should ever manage here. Washington piled on 1-9 and 5-8. Sunday's 5-3 win landed softly, and the week's loudest cheer went to the Busch Stadium staff. At 76-80, gratitude for the ushers is still gratitude.
