What happened
Six wins in seven, and the one blemish was a 3-9 shrug in Colorado that nobody bothered to mourn, since the fanbase spent that night counting its 9-2 record against the Rockies instead. The turn came the next afternoon: 9-3, a Lake Elsinore title dropped in the same thread, and misery hit zero and mostly stayed there. Michael King kept stacking quality starts, Mason Miller kept closing, and Ethan Salas walked off the Marlins 7-6. Padres fans, briefly, had nothing to complain about. Unsettling.
