What happened

The week opened with the Yankees treating Target Field like a rental property, 8-3 and 8-1, then popping champagne in the visiting clubhouse while Minnesota watched. The 5-4 win on the 16th was the turning point only in the sense that it restored the ability to feel anything. California brought a 4-5 loss, a 3-0 shutout, another blown lead in a 5-6, and an 8-0 finish nobody needed. Fans spent the week arguing about whether Cuddyer and Kubel were washed in 2012. Seventy-three wins, and the real ones insist it ended last July.
