What happened
A 5-3 win over Atlanta opened the series with Skubal setting the tone and the vindication crowd out in force: "an obligatory fuck you to all you Teoscar, Kyle and Max haters!" Then came the 2-3 follow-up, and the turning point was an inning the fanbase blamed on the umpire — "fking ump changed everything in this inning" — though the real wound was runners stranded. "Literally everyone else shit the bed." Series tied, record 1-1, misery up to 54. Vindication keeps a short shelf life.
