The emotional rollercoaster
Fan misery across the week, every six hours. Up is worse. Dashed lines are games.
What happened
The 100th loss arrived Monday, 2-7 to Arizona, and it came with a sendoff: Schaeffer thanking Freeland, "seeing Kyle cry in the postgame makes you know it's over." That was the week's hinge. Arizona finished the sweep 3-5 and 8-12, Chicago added 1-6, and someone noted the team "just decided to give up all month." A 9-6 win Saturday drew actual joy before Sunday's 2-4 closed it at 58-104. Grief, then tacos, then grief again.
