What happened
Virginia Tech went to Maryland and came home 3-0, a 35-26 win that ended an eight-year wait for a nonconference power-conference scalp. The turning point was the obituary itself: "RIP OOC Power Conference drought: 2018-2026," typed out like a headstone rather than a celebration, because joy here arrives pre-mourned. Misery barely moved, 39 to 35, and the loudest grievance of the night was aimed at the broadcast booth, one fan wanting "this color commentator in the gulag like yesterday." Three wins in, and the enemy is still a man with a microphone.
