Misery Index · Despair · ▲ from 91
Texas fans resent that late touchdown for dressing up a Florida loss as something close to respectable.
The emotional rollercoaster
Texas fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Texas lost 24-27 to Florida at home, and the margin flattered them. The turning point was Manning holding the ball too long with a receiver open, then putting it on the ground, a sequence one fan noted had now "cost us 2 weeks in a row." The late touchdown that made the scoreboard respectable only deepened the grievance; one fan was "pissed that we scored that late touchdown because the score makes it look like we had even a shred of competence." At 4-2, misery climbed from 91 to 97. Nobody is arguing it is misplaced.
