What happened

Texas went to Dallas and came home 4-1, undone 24-27 by Oklahoma in a game that sprawled past four hours and gave the fanbase plenty of time to sit with it. That was the turning point of the season's first act: the Red River loss, absorbed in installments, like a bill paid monthly. One fan asked only for mercy on the clock, not the scoreboard: "Look if we're gonna lose like that can it not be 4 fucking hours." Another wanted Sarkisian to "delegate play calling to the fucking OC." Despair, but efficient despair, which is more than the offense managed.
