What happened
South Carolina beat Tennessee 27-24 and the fanbase still filed out grumbling, which tells you most of what you need to know about this season. The turning point wasn't a play so much as the familiar middle stretch, when a comfortable margin quietly evaporated and the Vols were handed a door back in. One fan called the team "so fucking inconsistent," another spent the night watching refs who were "swallowing the whistle on both teams at odd times." At 4-3, winning ugly still counts. It just doesn't feel like much.
