Another loss, another TV flicked off early, and the mob has moved past the coach straight to Pat Kraft.
The emotional rollercoaster
Penn State fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Penn State lost 23-31 to USC at home, dropping to 3-3 and officially out of the business of pretending this season is salvageable. The turning point wasn't on the field so much as in the living rooms: one fan hit a breaking point, said "okay we're done here" and "promptly shut off my tv," which is its own kind of final score. The anger has already migrated upstairs, where "Pat Kraft needs to be fired" passes for optimism. Misery dipped to 77, mostly because expectations died first.
