A 17-point win in Iowa City soothed everything except the loathing, which is apparently load-bearing.
The emotional rollercoaster
Ohio State fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Ohio State went to Iowa City and left with a 31-14 win, which moved the record to 4-1 and the misery index from 52 to 34, and yet the fanbase spent the evening screaming about officiating. The turning point wasn't a play so much as a realization: this was going to be comfortable, and they'd have to find something else to be angry about. They found it. "JESUS CHRIST THEY'RE HOLDING THE SHIT OUT OF HIM." Content, for Ohio State, apparently still sounds like loathing.
