What happened
Rice arrived and promptly left in pieces, 52-0, and Notre Dame fans spent the afternoon doing something unfamiliar this season: relaxing. The turning point was the shutout holding past halftime, which turned a scoreboard into a mood. One fan called it "Best Week 2 win in Marcus Freeman head coaching history," and the Carr appreciation flowed freely, a quarterback who "just flat out does not make mistakes."
