3-0 with a road win in hand, and the room still files grievances about holding calls and an unlikeable coach.
The emotional rollercoaster
Mississippi State fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Mississippi State won 41-34 at South Carolina and moved to 3-0, which should have been enough. It wasn't. The turning point came somewhere in the flag-strewn middle of it, when the penalty count started doing more talking than the scoreboard, and one fan summed up the mood by noting he didn't "know what to do with my hands but I bet whatever it is it'll be called for holding." Misery jumped from 4 to 38 on a winning week. Undefeated, and still wondering why anyone keeps watching.
