#19 Michigan
W 52-17 vs UTEP · Sat, Sep 19 · 3-0 overall
Misery Index · Meh · ▲ from 45
A 35-point win over UTEP still ends with Bryce bailing from a clean pocket, and the room stays unconvinced.
The emotional rollercoaster
Michigan fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Michigan beat UTEP 52-17 and moved to 3-0, which ought to count for something, and somehow registered as another uneasy Saturday in a season that keeps nudging the misery needle up instead of down. The turning point wasn't a score at all. It was a snap with nobody near the quarterback: "Cleanest pocket I've ever seen, Bryce bugs out for no reason and drops the ball. I'm so tired of this." Elsewhere, the board had moved on to litigating whether "Brian Kelly killed a kid with a crane." Thirty-five-point wins should not feel like evidence.
