What happened
Miami opened in Palo Alto and never gave Stanford a reason to believe, walking out 45-6 and 1-0. The turning point came early, when it became obvious the quarterback situation was no longer a situation at all: one fan watched Mensah operate and concluded he's "NFL ready the fuck," which is less analysis than surrender to joy. Another declared Toney "on his way to becoming an all time legend for us." It's September. The fanbase has already drafted the statue inscription, which is how this usually starts.
