The emotional rollercoaster
Illinois fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Illinois left College Park with a 20-17 win and a 5-3 record, and the fanbase celebrated mostly by relitigating Purdue. The week turned on a defense that let Maryland back into it, prompting one fan to note the Terps "remembered that our defense is mega turbo dogshit," while a false start on a field goal attempt drew its own groans. Being an Illini fan, another wrote, "is not good on the heart," and a three-point road win at 5-3 is exactly how the heart gets that way.
