Provo exposed the portal haul as a rumor, and with Gio hurt the only thing Arizona recruited was regret.
What happened
Arizona went to Provo and came home 1-1 after a 17-28 loss to BYU, and the fanbase spent the evening performing an autopsy on the offseason. The turning point was Gio going down, because once the one receiver anyone trusted was off the field, the whole thing collapsed into a referendum on roster construction. One fan asked what the staff actually "did in the portal," calling the line "horrendous" and the backs no better. Misery jumped from 47 to 75. Twelve games is a long time to be right about this.
