What happened
The opening kickoff told the whole story: E.Pineiro boots it 60 yards, R.Shaheed takes it 95 the other way, and a tripping penalty on the kicker himself somehow made it worse. Down 0-7 before the offense touched the ball, San Francisco never threatened, with B.Purdy's third-quarter interception by E.Jones just punctuation on a 41-point loss to a Darnold-led team that only threw for 124. The fanbase has moved past tactics and into grievance — another year, filed away.
